One of the annoying things about Paris is how expensive it is. Movies are 11euros, apartments are tiny for how much you pay, and eating out almost anywhere takes a serious bite out of your wallet. So it's something we generally reserve for special occasions like visitors and birthdays. Luckily, this weekend was my birthday and I got to go out to eat twice. :) First, my friend Laura had a deal at a restaurant right across from Notre Dame on the left bank. We sat outside and had a lovely boeuf bourguignon with potatoes and salad. Then we went walking and stopped for crepes with nutella. Definitely a nice treat.
Saturday morning I met Talia for brunch at Pain et Chocolat, a little cafe in the 7th between the Eiffel Tower and Les Invalid. The place was super cute and run by a little old couple who brought us the food themselves. They even had blankets on the chairs if you got chilly sitting outside. I loved the little brunch combo I got: coffee, orange juice, croissant, eggs, jam, bread, and cheese. After eating, we wandered around taking pictures and met up with the boys to go out for a drink. We ended up at a little bar place and had hot chocolates while we caught up.
That night, I made chicken quesedillas with chips and salsa for Paul's family. We had wine and cider with our mexican dinner, followed by a chocolate/mint grasshopper pie. So it was a nice relaxing weekend with friends, and a nice time out enjoying Paris. :)

Paris seems to be full of nice little places to eat--can't wait to visit more of them.
