Cabourg

About a month ago, I got the feeling that we'd need a break from work and would want to get out of town for a while. We asked Paul's aunt and uncle if they would share the apartment they have in Cabourg with us for a couple of days. With great generosity, they said we could have it for the weekend. So we went over straight after work Thursday night and stayed until Saturday night, short but sweet. The flat is right on the beach with a great view from the balcony, and only a short 10 minute walk into town.

The weather was not forecast to be very good, but it had been over 80 degrees in Paris (finally!) for the week before, so we weren't too bothered by lower temperatures. As these pictures will show, we did have some cloudy skies and a few showers, but both afternoons it cleared up and gave us lots of sun.
We spent most of the time on the beach, even going in the water, or just reading and people watching. The rest of the time was spent going into town to visit the shops, the market, and walking around the neighborhood. We bought some wine and food for dinner one night while watching the Olympics. We also went out to eat at our friend's parents' restaurant with amazing seafood. It really was a great getaway and we can't wait to go back in October!
