The Real Househusbands

I've never been a huge fan of reality tv. It's mostly stupid and pointless, but occasionally it can be entertaining. In general, I find the singing or dancing competition shows most interesting. So when I heard the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills were coming to Paris and were interested in doing a Segway tour with us, I had to do a little research. I discovered I had seen an episode or two that I had stumbled upon, but didn't know anything about them or their families.
Luckily I had done my homework since I was put in charge Monday when they showed up to film. In the end, it was the husbands who came on tour, not the wives, and only two of them could make it. Real Estate mogul Mauricio Umansky, husband of Kyle Richards, and restauranteur Ken Todd, wife of Lisa Vanderpump, showed up around midday to hang out.
The film crew though, came much earlier. After a couple hours of crazy phone calling back and forth with the producer, they were finally given permission to film. They at first weren't going to be allowed since we couldn't get the legal documents ready that would cover us if they said anything bad or put us in a bad light. In the end, they were given permission but couldn't show any of us or the shop. We also had to remove our logo from the machines.
I went along to make sure everything was all right, and it was a pretty exciting day. Our guide was Johann, but really, he didn't get to do much guiding. We were more like escorting them around while they set up shots and filmed over and over. They worked pretty quick though and everyone had a good time. Everyone was really nice and relaxed too.

Here they are filming in front of the dome church.

Posing in front of the Ecole Militaire. That's Ken in the blue.

I got a picture with Mauricio! He didn't seem like the uber-rich type until you noticed he was wearing Dolce and Gabbana jeans.

  1. Like you, I've only heard of the show and not seen it; I will have to do some research. Too bad you were prohibited from being in any of the shots--you would have looked great on tv!
