Bachelorette Afternoon

The first bachelorette party I've gone to in France, and it was for an American with only one french girl in attendance. We did it french style though, making her dress up and go do embarrassing things in public. For Laura, we dressed her up in a chef's hat and coat with a sign saying she was getting married. She then had to go and ask various men for the recipe of eternal love. We had made a list of 26 different men to ask (because she's 26 years old). Examples include: man with a large family, man with a coffee, man wearing pink, man over 60, a teenager, a man playing a sport or game, man talking on a cell phone, and a tourist. Most of the time we asked in french "Quelle est la recette pour l'amour eternelle?"

We didn't start off very well as the french rudeness made some men refuse to answer and brush right past, even on a Sunday afternoon. We headed over to the Eiffel Tower and eventually found a nice mix of tourists, both french and english speaking. Our best lot was from the group gathering to go on our Fat Tire Bike tour. I knew exactly where they'd meet and that there would be a nice mix of guys to answer our question.

Max here answered that the best recipe was a crepe with lots of Nutella, our kind of guy. He's actually french too, so he would know about crepes. Ryan, below, is from Texas and said something boring but true, like honesty. A few of the other best answers were "loads of sex, every day", "a cup of honesty, a teaspoon of chemistry, and a dash of spontaneity, bake for years".

After crossing most of the list off (I think she may have counted a few guys for more than one) we headed over to her apartment to have some drinks, snacks, and watch the movie Bridesmaids.

  1. Fun, fun, fun! How did you escape such a party when you were engaged over there? (BTW, the weather looks nice in your pics-hope it holds for 3 more weeks).
