This is the Chateau de Chantilly! Less than an hour north of Paris, we drove up for the afternoon and visited the chateau, the tea room, and the stables.
One of the best rooms of the chateau was the chapel. This was the ceiling of the back part of the chapel.
We stopped for tea in the chateau tea room "La Capitainerie Restaurant" and enjoyed a Tarte Tatin and ice cream with our mint tea.
Our favorite stop of the day was at the stables out next to the racetrack. We weren't sure if there were going to be horses there, but there were! Big dressage horses as well as little poneys and donkeys. Julia liked the "baby horses" the best.
