This month we all finally got to take a break after a busy few months of packing and moving and settling in. Paul and I had three days in Spain, just the two of us, while Julia stayed behind with grandma and grandpa. We went to Malaga, on the southern coast, and spent a relaxing couple of days seeing the sites and enjoying the sunny warm weather.
Julia is also "on holiday!" as she puts it, from school right now. In French schools, they get a 10-14 day break every 6 weeks. So this is the Tussaint break, named for the 1st of November. They go on break the 20th and go back on the 3rd of November, so a full two weeks off. Nice to have a rest from all the new things, but also seems a bit abrupt to stop right as she's in a routine and starting to like it.
She's enjoyed it though, and has spent the majority of her time on her new pink bike. It was a present from a family at church whose daughter outgrew it.

We found her this fingerpainting book in Spain and she is loooving it! I have to hide it now so she doesn't ask to paint all the time. :)
She's joined me in the kitchen a lot lately to help me make cookies, scones, and here we are making cupcakes. She was master of the sprinkles and would let me do any!
We discovered a fun park a little ways down the street with some play equipment to go to when the weather is nice. It looks like she's in jail here!
Last day of vacation is this Wednesday, and then it's back to school until Christmas break!
