So the bedroom isn't quite done, but it's looking a lot better now. We had nothing but piles of clothes when we first moved in, so we picked out a bed first thing. A regular bed without a ladder! So exciting. You'll see we're using some old chairs as end-tables right now. Those will hopefully be replaced and then we're hoping to transform them into prettier chairs.
After the bed, the next step was repainting. The wall was a kind of cream color, but there were marks all over, including some weird black spots. So with some help, it's a nice off white now.
The closet will quickly become packed full, I'm sure, as it's not big on hanging space, but it does have nice big storage shelves. Unfortunately I can't reach the top shelf.
I managed to add this little necklace holder inside too!
We made this little shelving addition after Paul found some perfectly good doors being thrown out downstairs. They looked like new, so we bought a matching bookcase and put the doors on the front. Voila! A nice armoire. Kind of.
Our next step was getting the piles of clothes off the floor. In stepped some inexpensive IKEA dressers that we can replace the knobs on. (Which explains why the left one only has one knob on top as we're testing out color combinations.) There are also some pictures that need hanging there.
Last touch is the homemade rug by the bed, and that's our bedroom. :)
I recognize that rug ! For those that don't, it's made with denim from Kelsey's and Paul's jeans.
ReplyDeleteIs that a watercolor of a castle on a hill you are going to hang on the bedroom wall?
ReplyDeleteYes it is. Done by a family friend who goes to the church in Paris. It's of Najac.
