This weekend we celebrated Paul's birthday with lots of homemade goods and wine. We had his brother and sister in law and his aunt and uncle over for dinner. I wanted to try out some brie en croute for everyone, (big success), and Paul wanted an apple pie, so I got to work in the kitchen. Elena also made a cheesecake. Everything was met with the highest reviews. Then we went shopping today to find him some much needed new shoes. All in all a very productive weekend.

it all looks very good, especially the crust on that apple pie ! did you tell about using speculoos biscuit crumbs for the crust on the cheesecake ?
ReplyDeletethanks! i did sprinkle a little extra of the sugar mixture on top of the pie to give it a little kick. you told me about the speculoos crust which i'll do the next time i make one.
