Loire Valley-Part One

I like road trips. Well, I like seeing new places and driving is a nice way to get there. This time, our road trip took us to the Loire Valley. A few hours south and a little west of Paris and a whole new world emerges. Countryside, castles, and beautiful scenery awaited. We stayed at La Terte, a little bed and breakfast near Malicorne sur Sarthe. Cute and cosy, surrounded by fields, it was exactly what we wanted, but a little hard to find in the dark. Luckily no wrong turns were made, and our host Corinne was there to make us yummy croissant and homemade jam breakfast with orange juice. :)

Our first night we didn't really plan for dinner. We arrived Sunday night around 6pm, in the dark, and nothing was really open. Like I said, we were in the middle of nowhere with no stores around, and the only restaurant Corinne could find open was in a town 20min away. We set off to try and find it, (did I mention we had no gps and the phone died?). We made it to La Fleche and drove around trying to find the place she'd mentioned. No luck on that, but we stumbled on a little market open for no reason and just waiting to share it's goodies. We loaded up on pumpkin soup, bread, saucisson, cheese, wine and chocolate. French dinner at its best. :)
best dinner ever
