Getting Ready for Bébé

Now that I am officially on maternity leave (yay!), I have all the time in the world to organize everything for our little girl, hopefully before she gets here. (They call this "nesting," like I'm a bird.) :) We've stocked the freezer with ready to eat or easy to make meals (and by stocked, I mean packed it full), went in to renew my visa to continue to live here, and also packed a suitcase for the hospital.
We don't have everything yet, but I think we have the essentials, and if she doesn't come tomorrow we'll be making a few more shopping trips to get anything else. Here's what it looks like so far.

We put the crib and changing table in the corner of the living room with a divider to put between when she's sleeping.

Her elephant waiting patiently for her to come home from the hospital.

Clothes organized by type and size stocked underneath for easy access.

The changing table looks a little more girly and horse themed.

Our quick reach basket of diapers for those night changes.

The start of her library, although she won't be able to read these for a while.

The weird looking frog face is a bath towel.

The last few major things to do are put up some shelves on the wall and add some soft lighting in the corner. We might get a little rug and a laundry basket too.

We pulled out the Christmas decorations and after we get a tree I'll hopefully have time to put all that up and watch Christmas movies while waiting for our little girl to arrive.

  1. Looks good. Great start to the library. Nice horse theme on the changing table.

  2. Maybe you should add the t.v. guide to your bookshelf; Grandma says you were reading hers when you were 4 years old.
