This last week has been sunny and unseasonably warm here around Paris. After a mild winter while most of the eastern US was buried under snow (and is still getting out), we've jumped right into spring it seems. Temperatures in the mid-60s, sunshine every day, I could get used to this. With this weather comes a few unwanted side effects, though. Hitting us the hardest are allergies. :(
Another side effect is the pollution. Apparently with the warm weather and lack of winds, Paris is having a big pollution problem. They said not to go running or work out outside (sounds good to me, it's the best excuse I've ever heard). To also try and help combat it, the city made all the public transportation free this weekend to get cars off the road. So we decided to take advantage and ride into Paris for free and have a little picnic. We thought it might not be as polluted down on the grass. :)
