A Week in the English Countryside

We took the ferry over to England and met up with Paul's sister and her family, including their two little kids, as well as Paul's parents for a week. We were in a vacation house in Somerset for a week, about half an hour from the southern coast of England.
The ferry ride over was very long and rough with high winds and cold weather. So that made for a long first day, but after arriving we had a mix of sunny and rainy weather the whole week. Luckily we didn't have any big plans and managed to keep the kids entertained with the beach, zoos, and walks through the village.

Our first day we went to West Bay and visited the beach, went to a playground, and had fish and chips (that's fries) for lunch.

Our next sunny day we went down to Lyme Regis on the coast, which is a bit more well known (it features in some Jane Austin books) and is a bit bigger and more touristy. Still a lovely town and we enjoyed the rocky beach.

A very relaxing trip and luckily the ferry ride back was uneventful!
