Roomie Reunion

view from our room
Nine years ago, I met fours girls at Seattle Pacific who I would live with for three years and become friends. We all new each other in different ways, living on the same floor, running track together, working together, or having a class together. We had travelled to Europe together and to each other's houses. But we all lived in different places, Kansas, Colorado, Paris, and Seattle. So it had been two years since we'd all been together.
So, six months ago we started planning a weekend reunion in Seattle. We got a hotel room right on Lake Union with an amazing view, and planned to do all the things we'd been missing for the last 5 years. Of course, I'd been living here that whole time, but have been gone for 9 months. So it was a nice to see everything again. The first night we went out for Thai, then just hung out in our room playing cards, something we always liked doing.
The next morning, we got up early and took the shuttle downtown to Pike's Place Market and walked around before catching a ferry across to Bainbridge Island.

I think when we did this jump, the captain honked the horn right when we were in the air and startled us. We had been taking a bunch of pictures before the ferry left to go back and everyone had been watching us through the windows.

After the ferry trip, we walked around downtown, did a little shopping, and headed back to the hotel. We ended the night watching the new BBC version of Emma.

The next morning, we headed over to Discovery Park and walked around in the cloudy drizzle for a few hours. We had worked up a hearty appetite, and decided some Red Mill burgers were in order. A relaxing afternoon by the hotel pool and hot tub followed by a nap, and we were ready to get dressed up and head out for happy hour. McCormick's and Schmick's was right across the lake from us, so we went for an hour and had strawberry lemonade margarita's and shared appetizers. Then it was back to playing cards! We took Jodi to the airport early the next morning, looking forward to seeing each other again in just 5 short months.
