The French Reception

One consequence of an international marriage is that not everyone can make it to the wedding, but that just means you need multiple receptions. Last night, we had a delayed little party where all the family and friends from three different churches could come and celebrate.
We attempted a mixed party with chips and salsa, cheesecakes, chocolate chip cookies, and brownies mixed in with the French style cheese, bread, wine, and other bits. I'm afraid the cheese plate here put our American one to shame- 10 cheeses compared the the 5 we had at the American reception. About 100 guests showed up, and we were able to have our best man and lady of honor repeat their speeches, (this time in french), and show the slide show with french comments.
The highlight of the night though, was how Paul and I dressed up again in our dress and suit for everyone to see. Everyone appreciated getting to view the dress and felt like they were really celebrating our wedding. It was also nice to have a second chance to wear the dress. :)
